UPDATE 11-Mar-2024

Congratulations to teams who have made Saturday finals and commiserations to those sides who have missed out.

Please could all teams note the following regarding Saturday competition finals.

ADDITIONAL

  • Covers
    • Hosting clubs are required to use covers on their pitches Thursday, Friday and Saturday night regardless of weather. This includes clubs hosting semi-finals with two ‘foreigner’ teams.
    • Please contact secretary@qsdca.com.au urgently if there are any problems with doing this.

  • Wet Weather

Note there are a few important differences in CCC. See CCC Playing Regulation 10 for more information.

  • Pitch Rolling
    • Law 9.1  LINK
    • Summary of the pitch rolling rules HERE

  • All Saturday finals will be played with the modified Playing conditions as shown in Playing Regulations 35 & 36.
  • The schedule is as follows:
Competition Semi Final dates Grand Final dates
Saturday B1 to C4 Sat 16 + Sun 17-Mar-2024 Sat 23 + Sun 24-Mar-2024

Playing Hours 10 am – 5 pm

Minimum 90 overs each day

For venues, see PlayHQ website https://www.playhq.com/cricket-australia/org/queensland-sub-districts-cricket-association/summer-202324/c5d4112a
  • In all cases where no result can be achieved (e.g. due to rain) the team with higher ladder position will advance. (See Reg 36.4)
  • There are no reserve days.
  • Teams whose Clubs are not in good financial standing with the Association (bills overdue by more than 30 days) will be made ineligible for finals and replaced by next highest placed team. (See Reg 35.6)
  • It would help if Round 14 and semi final results are entered by lunch time Monday after the game to determine correct finalists and arrange venues and umpires.

Player eligibility

  • Play HQ records will be used to determine the number of games for each player.
  • To be eligible for a final, each player must be registered in PlayHQ and have a record of 4 or more games played during the season in the same grade or lower. (See Reg 35.15)
  • No player with 2 games or fewer in the same grade or lower will be approved. (See Reg 35.18)
  • Many players have season records with multiple FILL-IN appearances.
    • As previously noted FILL-IN appearances are unregistered and uninsured. They also do not count towards finals eligibility.
    • For  FILL-IN appearances greater than 4 weeks old, requests to adjust will be declined.
  • Management Committee has decided that FILL-IN players will not be allowed in finals.
    • This was announced at the 5-Feb Delegates Meeting.
    • Selection of a FILL-IN player will result in team disqualification. (So don’t do it !)
  • Requests for exemption/downgrade must be sent to Cricketops.for approval.
    • Grading rules apply slightly differently in finals from regular Saturday rounds for clubs with teams in multiple grades.
    • See Playing Regulations 35.15 to 35.23 for full details.
    • Any questions, please email cricketops@qsdca.com.au
  • Requests involving CCC players and teams need to be made to CCC Cricketops operations@communitycricketcomp.org

Team Lists

  • There has been lots of confusion and misunderstanding about Team Lists this season. The committee is determined to eliminate any confusion by means of this direction.
  • All teams will submit completed paper Team Lists to Umpires and to opposition captains in all finals matches.
  • The completed paper Team List will be given to the umpires before the coin toss. (Reg 7.6)
  • Captains from each team will also exchange a copy of the completed paper Team Lists before the toss. (Reg 7.5)
  • The Team List will be kept by Umpires and will be referred to in any dispute which may arise.
  • Teams risk disqualification for failing to comply with this direction of the Management Committee.
  • Printable copies of the Team List form can be found on the QSDCA Website here.
